Your gas boiler is the beating heart of your heating system. They are a proven technology that can be found in almost every home in the UK. The technology behind them has moved with the times though. The latest condensing boilers run at an efficiency of more than 90%. That's pretty good when you compare that to an older boiler which could have an efficiency as low as 60%.

If you have an older boiler that was installed prior to 2007 and you use a fair bit of gas every year, there could be an economic case for upgrading, (sorry, we have to try!).

Furthermore, if you have a relatively new installation it is often a mandatory requirement for yearly servicing to be carried out. This is for the full manufacturer's warranty to be honoured.
